 Apple Announces Release Date for iPhone 17, Mark Your Calendar. Apple has announced the release date for its latest phone, the iPhone 17 series. The phone will be released on September 9, United States time, or September 10, Indonesia time. 'Get ready to be amazed. Join us online for a special Apple Event on September 10, 2025,' wrote Apple in the invitation via email on Tuesday (August 26). Apple has provided a streaming link for the event on its YouTube channel. 

The live streaming link is also scheduled for September 10 at 12:00 AM WIB. This September's Apple Event will take place at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, United States. The primary focus of this Apple Event is expected to be the iPhone 17 series, which reportedly includes a new member, the iPhone 17 Air. Additionally, Apple is likely to introduce the latest Apple Watch along with several other products.

Apple rarely shares details about its latest products before officially announcing them, but the company has introduced new iPhones in September since 2012. This year, Apple is rumored to be trying to entice consumers with a super-slim iPhone. The company is expected to release a new model that is essentially the MacBook Air of iPhones, featuring a much sleeker body, but potentially sacrificing battery life and camera quality. 

Giving the iPhone a new look could revive interest in smartphones at a time when most people are only upgrading out of necessity, as shown by data from market research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. While almost every other smartphone maker has released foldable phones, the iPhone's design has not changed much in recent years.

However, Apple's efforts so far to entice buyers with iPhones in various sizes have mostly failed. Apple has removed the iPhone Mini from its product lineup after two generations. According to CNN, the larger iPhone 16 Plus only accounted for 5-10 percent of Apple's shipments in July 2024, according to Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, an analyst known for his predictions on Apple products. He also predicts that Apple will discontinue the Plus model from the iPhone lineup in 2025.

In addition to the new, sleeker variant, Apple is expected to announce the standard version of the iPhone 17 alongside new Pro models. Apple typically upgrades its standard models with a new processor and additional improvements to the camera and battery life. Compared to the standard model, the Pro models offer more advanced cameras, larger displays, slightly more powerful processors, and a design made of titanium.
