Foldable iPhone Coming in 2026
Not in 2025, the Foldable iPhone will be launching next year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple plans to release a foldable iPhone in 2026, to be followed by a foldable iPad in 2028. Several sources have confirmed that Apple intends to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026, as part of the iPhone 18 lineup.
Rumors also vary between referring to the foldable device as an iPad or MacBook, but all information about the larger foldable device refers to the same product. The foldable iPad is expected to have a screen size between 18 and 20 inches when opened, with a smaller form factor when closed.
According to Kuo, Apple is using ultra-thin cover glass for foldable iPhones and foldable iPads, which is a rumor that has emerged before. Corning will supply the ultra-thin cover glass, but General Interface Solutions (GIS) will work with Corning on cutting, edge treatment, inspection, packaging, and shipping.
Quoted from Mac Rumors, Kuo estimates that Apple will sell between 8 and 10 million foldable iPhones in 2026, and up to 25 million in 2027. Larger-screen foldable devices are expected not to sell well. Kuo said that these devices will be priced "much higher" than the foldable iPhone. The foldable iPhone itself is expected to retail for nearly $2,000.
