Accordingly, Apple in Cupertino has set its sights high with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (Apple Watch Ultra 1). Its exterior now appears somewhat more rugged and robust. This is for good reason. The 49mm titanium case not only provides water resistance up to 100 meters but also offers assurance that it has been tested and meets military standards.

The lightweight, robust casing is combined with an always-on Retina display that delivers brilliant 3,000 nits of peak brightness. In comparison, the 3rd-generation iPad Pro 11 only manages 600 nits, and the regular iPhone 14 has 1,200 nits. This ensures excellent readability even in bright sunlight. In the automatically activated Night Mode, the display operates at just 1 nit.

Like the new iPhone 15, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 now features a customizable action button. Various functions can be freely defined via this button. It also has two speakers for calls or Siri, as well as precise dual-frequency GPS.

The side button, located next to the ring of three microphones, can be used to activate a siren or make an emergency call. It also features a depth gauge that reaches 40 meters and a large digital crown for easy operation.

In power-saving mode, the smartwatch lasts a respectable 72 hours on a full charge. However, those who want to make the most of it will have to settle for 17 hours.

Nevertheless, Apple is making a statement with this next step, primarily due to the S9 SiP. 5.6 billion transistors on the dual-core CPU with a 4-core Neural Engine process data at unparalleled speed. Furthermore, the Apple Watch can now be controlled with double-tap gestures.
