It's over from July: Samsung discontinues Galaxy feature after six years.
The integration between Samsung Notes and Microsoft OneNote is ending. From August 2026, notes will no longer be automatically synchronized between the two services.
Samsung is discontinuing synchronization between its Notes app and Microsoft OneNote. The current version of Samsung Notes displays a message stating that support for OneNote synchronization will end in July 2026.
After that, content from Samsung Notes will no longer be automatically mirrored to OneNote, and the reverse process will also be eliminated, as reported by "SamMobile," citing an X-Post from leaker @kroe_roe.
Samsung stops synchronization with Microsoft OneNote: These users are affected
This primarily affects users who create notes on their Galaxy smartphone and simultaneously edit them in OneNote – for example, under Windows. The previous integration made it easier to access the same content across different devices and operating systems.
After the cut-off date, either a manual export or a switch to a different synchronization scenario is required.
Microsoft OneNote: What you need to know about the service
- Digital notebook concept: OneNote is structured like a digital file folder, divided into notebooks, sections, and individual pages to organize information clearly.
- Flexible Canvas: Unlike classic word processing programs, text, images, drawings, and tables can be placed anywhere on the page ("Free-Form-Canvas").
- Cross-platform synchronization: Notes are automatically saved in the cloud (OneDrive) and are therefore always up to date on PC, Mac, smartphone, and tablet.
- Multimodal capture: The program supports not only keyboard input, but also handwritten sketches using a pen, audio recordings, and "cutting" web content directly from the browser.
