Huawei Watch GT 6 & Watch GT 6 Pro: These are the differences!

The Huawei Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro are the manufacturer's latest sports smartwatches, unveiled in early September. With so many gadgets, the question arises: Which version should you choose? Is the "Pro" or "regular" version sufficient?

These are the visual differences.

Some differences are immediately apparent. The Huawei Watch GT 6 is available in 41 mm and 46 mm in diameter, with the smaller version being geared more towards women. In previous generations, the Pro version was often also available in a smaller size, but not this time. The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is only available in 46 mm. The Pro version comes in three colors: black, brown, and titanium, each with its own strap. The standard Watch GT 6 is available in seven colors, which vary depending on the version: black, purple, white, brown, gold, gray, and green.

The look and build quality also differ slightly. The Huawei Watch GT 6 46 mm mimics a classic wristwatch but, for example, has a regular pin clasp for the strap. On the other hand, the Watch GT 6 Pro appears more like a single, seamless piece with a plug-in connector. Both basically follow the octagonal design of an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. The GT 6 Pro is a titanium alloy that protects the screen with a sapphire crystal. The standard version, however, is made of stainless steel and uses conventional glass screen protectors.

These are the features that differentiate the GT 6 and GT Pro.

There are also functional differences. We're primarily referring to the comparison between the two 46mm models. Due to the size difference, there's naturally a difference in display size and battery life between the 41mm GT 6 and the 46mm GT 6 Pro. Aside from that, the differences mainly focus on improved and more comprehensive sports features. These include, for example, the enhanced trail running mode. Both watches support route import and route-back navigation. Still, only the GT 6 Pro allows you to access elevation information and receive estimated arrival times at intermediate points for each route section.

Only the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro offers the golf mode, which is also available in the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro. This mode supports up to 17,000 golf course maps and even vector maps, allowing you to zoom in and out of the course directly on the watch. The Pro version is also suitable for divers, as it supports freediving up to 40 meters, but not scuba diving

Nevertheless, the GT 6 is generally water-resistant and can be worn while showering and swimming. In addition to fall detection, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation measurement, only the Watch GT 6 Pro offers an ECG function. This is a 1-lead ECG, which can detect conditions such as atrial fibrillation. If the watch diagnoses such a condition, you should, of course, consult a doctor. A standard medical ECG typically offers 12 leads, providing more detailed information.
