Microsoft Announces New Xbox Game Pass Plans, Here's the Price

Microsoft has officially announced a major update to its paid gaming service , Xbox Game Pass. Starting October 1, 2025, Xbox Game Pass will offer three new plan options: Essential, Premium, and Ultimate. The overhaul was announced on the official Xbox website on Wednesday (January 20, 2025). The price details for each package are as follows.

Latest Xbox Game Pass prices and plans

• Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $ 30 per month.
• Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is $ 15 per month.
• Xbox Game Pass Essential is US$10 per month.

Benefits of each package

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the most expensive and highest-end package. This package offers players a variety of benefits, including the ability to play around 75 new top-tier (AAA) games on the day of their release each year.

Subscribers will also enjoy the benefits of cloud gaming in 1440p quality, as well as exclusive access to popular gaming services, including EA Play, Ubisoft Plus Classics, and Fortnite Crew.

Not to be missed, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also be able to play more than 400 popular games for free, directly from their Xbox console, cloud , or PC.  

Other extra features include Online Multiplayer, in-game benefits (also known as bonus items), and Rewards with Xbox, which offer cashback of up to $ 100 per year when making online purchases.

Below the Ultimate package is Xbox Game Pass Premium . This package includes access to approximately 200 free games on PC, console, and the cloud, as well as access to the latest Xbox games released within the past year, online multiplayer, in-game benefits, cloud gaming, and up to US$50 in cashback per year.

Meanwhile, the most affordable package is Xbox Game Pass Essential, priced at US$10 per month.  This package offers access to 50 popular game titles on console, PC, and cloud, as well as Online Multiplayer, In-Game Benefits, and cash back of up to $25 per year when making transactions at the Xbox online store.

With these three new plans, the previous Xbox Game Pass plans, namely Xbox Game Pass Core and Xbox Game Pass Standard, will automatically be switched to the Essential and Premium plans.  

Meanwhile, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate package will remain the same, but with updated benefits and a price increase from the previous $20.

In an official statement on the Xbox blog, they said that the presence of this new package will make it more flexible for players to choose which package is right for them.

"This step is taken to provide greater flexibility and added value for players, whether they just want to play their favorite games on console, PC, or via cloud gaming ," said Xbox.

From the  Xbox website, Thursday (2/10/2025), the Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate services are now available for purchase by gamers in several regions supported by Xbox.
