Apple surprises with iOS 27: These AI innovations could change everything

Bloomberg reports that Apple is planning significant innovations in  ​​Apple Intelligence with iOS 27, expected to go far beyond previous capabilities.

Key innovations in iOS 27

iOS 26.4 is expected to introduce major AI updates as early as spring, including a completely redesigned version of Siri, originally announced for iOS 18. But that's just the beginning: According to Mark Gurman, iOS 27, scheduled to be presented at WWDC in June 2026, will offer even more profound technical and strategic advancements.

Even though concrete details are still scarce, it's noteworthy that Gurman speaks of "major updates"—especially since iOS 26, despite over 20 new Apple intelligence features, wasn't perceived as a significant breakthrough in AI. His statement that Apple intends to develop its entire AI strategy further is exciting.

AI offensive by the end of 2027?

Although Apple will likely continue to rely on on-device AI with a strong focus on data privacy, the company is pursuing new approaches in light of changing market conditions. With the combination of iOS 26.4 in the spring and iOS 27 in the fall (or summer for beta users), Apple could finally meet the expectations many had for Apple Intelligence.
