Galaxy S26 Ultra: The Black version comes with a matching frame

Shortly before the official unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series, new details about the flagship model’s design have surfaced. A well-known industry insider reports that the black version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra will undergo a subtle but noticeable change. 

Unlike its predecessor, which often paired dark backs with a silver frame, Samsung is opting for a completely black frame this time.

This adjustment could create an interesting visual effect. Although rumors suggest the display bezels on the S26 Ultra will indeed be narrower, the continuous black frame makes them appear wider. This is because the frame and display edges blend, creating the illusion that the bezels are thicker than they actually are

The new series is expected to be unveiled in January 2026. While the standard S26 and S26 Plus models are slated to be equipped with the Exynos 2600, the Ultra version will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 worldwide. 

All devices will run One UI 8.5, based on Android 16. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will use the black frame on other color variants as well. Traditionally, the Ultra models are released in several standard colors as well as special online-exclusive versions.
