iPhone 20: Apple's bezel-less anniversary display is reportedly already in Development.
Apple is reportedly planning to celebrate the big anniversary and release the iPhone 20 as early as 2027. Early reports suggest the Development of a completely bezel-less "all-screen design".
Who needs an iPhone 19? If the current rumor mill is to be believed, Apple is already aiming for a significant anniversary in 2027. The iPhone 18 is supposed to be followed directly by the iPhone 20, and according to initial reports, the Californians plan to do things very differently. While there isn't much information available yet, the Korean news site "Dealsite" reports that Development of the new iPhone display has already begun.
As reported by Wccftech and other outlets, Korean manufacturers are allegedly having to extensively restructure their production lines to adapt to the new "unique design" of the iPhone 20. According to rumors, LG could be the manufacturer of the iPhone display, even though Samsung has usually been responsible for Apple's OLED displays.
All-screen design expected for the iPhone 20
According to a Korean source, Apple is planning a "bezel-less, all-in-one, full-screen design" for the iPhone 20. This design would feature a display that curves slightly around all four edges, resulting in a completely bezel-less front. At least the side-curve aspect is no longer a novelty on Android smartphones like the Honor Magic 7 Pro or the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.
The iPhone 20's bezel-less display is rumored to be significantly different from anything we've seen before. All four sides would be curved, and the front-facing camera and depth sensor for facial recognition would be hidden behind the screen. It would be the first iPhone to forgo a notch or a similar "Dynamic Island" surround altogether. Apple could, of course, implement the latter via software, as recently demonstrated by the Xiaomi Poco F8 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Pro.
Rumors of a completely bezel-less iPhone have been circulating for years, if not decades. The iPhone X marked one of Apple's most significant design changes. Whether a similar revolution is planned for the iPhone 20 remains to be seen. While an "all-screen design" isn't entirely improbable, given how plausible the concept seems and how shaky the current evidence is, we recommend a healthy dose of skepticism.
