Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta launched: These are the countries where it will be released, and these are the devices that will receive it.
Samsung has launched the public beta testing phase for One UI 8.5. The first wave is initially available in six markets and is exclusively for the Galaxy S25 series. Germany, South Korea, the USA, and the UK have immediate access, while India and Poland will follow with a second beta. To participate, users need a local SIM card and a registered Samsung account.
At launch, the program only supports the main models of the S25 series: Standard, Plus, and Ultra. Variants like the Fan Edition or older devices are excluded for now. Based on experience, Samsung will later expand the beta to include other models such as the S24 series, Fold and Flip devices, and tablets. However, official confirmation is still pending.
Registration is done via the Samsung Members app. After logging in, a banner for the beta program will appear. Once registered, the update can be downloaded via the settings. Users should be aware that test software can be unstable. Errors, crashes, or battery life issues are possible. Downgrading to One UI 8.0 is only possible via Smart Switch or manual flashing and requires a complete reset. Therefore, backing up your data before installation is recommended.
One UI 8.5 brings numerous new features. These include enhanced Galaxy AI functions such as improved image generation, a redesigned interface with transparent elements and 3D icons, and optimized power management for longer battery life. Samsung also enhances integration within its own ecosystem and offers more customization options for quick access, the lock screen, and widgets.
