Pebble Round 2: Stylish return of a smartwatch icon
The Pebble Round 2 is the latest iteration of the popular round smartwatch from 2015, recently unveiled by rePebble. It retains the iconic, ultra-slim design but addresses the original’s shortcomings, such as the large bezel and short battery life. Priced at $199, it is available for pre-order now, with shipping starting in May 2026.
Technical Highlights
At its heart is a 1.3-inch colour e-paper display with 260 x 260 pixels and 283 DPI, stretching seamlessly across the entire front – twice the pixel count of its predecessor. Battery life is estimated at 10 to 14 days, thanks to modern Bluetooth chips and proven e-paper technology that reflects rather than glows. The watch is only 8.1 mm thick and water-resistant to 30 meters. It features four buttons, a touchscreen, a vibration motor, an accelerometer, a compass, and two microphones for voice control (initially Android, iOS to follow).
Design and variations
The stainless steel frame comes in three colours: matte black (20 mm band), brushed silver (14 or 20 mm), and polished rose gold (14 mm). Each version includes a quick-release silicone strap compatible with standard watch bands. This keeps the watch versatile and elegant, without unnecessary features like a heart rate sensor or GPS.
Features and compatibility
Pebble OS, open-source and quirky, powers everything: notifications, music control, step and sleep tracking, plus access to over 15,000 apps and watch faces in the App Store. It is a perfect fit for iOS and Android, ideal for everyday users who value durability. RePebble showcased the gadget at CES 2026 and is also allowing exchanges for Pebble Time 2 pre-orders.
