Samsung is getting serious: Good Lock is preparing for One UI 9

The software carousel at Samsung keeps spinning relentlessly. Just in time for the big Unpacked event at the end of July, the tech giant is updating its popular Good Lock modules to make them compatible with the upcoming One UI 9, based on  Android 17.

The most important news, however, lies in the details: the update not only improves compatibility but also delivers real added value for foldable device enthusiasts.

Galaxy Z Flip owners can look forward to a significant convenience update. Version 11.1.04 of the MultiStar module breaks down a long-standing barrier, finally allowing apps to be launched directly from the cover screen – without going through the often cumbersome launcher widget. For everyday use, this means quick interactions can be performed in a flash while the phone is folded, massively enhancing the form factor of the Flip series.

Samsung is also expanding its visual personalization options and system tweaks. The ClockFace (version 3.4.01.3) and RegiStar (version 1.0.73) modules are now available in the Good Lock Store to fix bugs from the current beta phase of the Galaxy S26.

Good Lock Updates at a Glance

  • MultiStar (v11.1.04 | 20.60 MB): Directly launch apps on the Z Flip cover screen without a launcher widget.
  • ClockFace (v3.4.01.3 | 175.33 MB): Full compatibility with One UI 9 for massive clock designs.
  • RegiStar (v1.0.73 | 12.75 MB): Adaptation of hardware buttons and backtap gestures for the new software generation.

While the flagship Galaxy S26 series are already in their third beta phase, the stable rollout of One UI 9 is expected at the end of the month, coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8.

Samsung's aggressive push for Good Lock modules is a strategic masterstroke against the competition. Previously, these power-user tools would malfunction for months after major Android updates or become completely unstable. By delivering flawless personalization right from the launch of One UI 9, Samsung demonstrates that it understands why enthusiasts remain loyal to the brand: its uncompromising control over the user interface.
