Sony Releases Pulse Elevate, a Wireless Gaming Speaker

Sony has introduced a wireless speaker called the Pulse Elevate. This device joins PlayStation's line of gaming audio accessories and is the first wireless gaming speaker in the Pulse series. This wireless speaker was announced at the State of Play event held by Sony on Wednesday (24/9/2025) in its home country, Japan.

According to Sony, the Pulse Elevate is designed with technologies already found in the Pulse Elite wireless headset and the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. However, Sony has packaged them in a speaker. "Pulse Elevate builds on the advanced immersive gaming audio experience we introduced to gamers with the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, incorporating advanced technologies like planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link into a new form factor," said Edwin Foo, VP Product Development, Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Edwin Foo claims that these speakers are compatible with games on PlayStation 5, PC, and Mac. When paired with these devices, the Pulse Elevate can be connected to the included dock, allowing the device to be configured for desktop gaming. This speaker can also be taken on the go and integrated with the PlayStation Portal or smartphone, as it supports Bluetooth connectivity and has a rechargeable battery.

Sony Pulse Elevate Features

Sony hasn't detailed the Pulse Elevate speaker's specifications, only boasting that it offers incredibly realistic audio, ultra-low latency, and wireless connectivity via PlayStation Link.

The realistic audio on these speakers is produced thanks to the planar magnetic drivers installed in each speaker. This support allows gamers to hear game audio exactly as the developers intended, regardless of the player they're using, whether it's a PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, or PlayStation Portal.

The advantage of pairing the Pulse Elevate with the PlayStation 5 is that the drivers are claimed to provide a more immersive audio experience, especially for games that support Tempest 3D AudioTech.

This speaker also features a built-in woofer that's claimed to produce rich bass. It also features a built-in microphone with AI-based noise cancellation, ensuring clear communication even without a headset.

This speaker system enables gamers to personalize the audio on their PlayStation 5 and PC, allowing them to adjust the equalizer, sidetone, volume, or even mute the microphone. This device also comes with volume control buttons, a power button, and a mute button.

The Sony Pulse Elevate is set to launch in 2026 and will be available in two color options: Midnight Black and White. The Japanese company has not yet revealed pricing or the list of countries where this gaming speaker will be available. When released, the Sony Pulse Elevate will be equipped with a PlayStation Link USB adapter that is compatible with USB-C ports.
