Samsung maintains its clear update strategy and ends software support for several devices as planned. This ensures transparency, but also disappoints owners of older models.

While many users value the company's reliability, the current decision affects four popular mid-range smartphones, which will have to do without regular updates in the future.

Samsung discontinues support: These four models are affected

Specifically, Samsung is discontinuing new system and security updates for the Galaxy A03S, Galaxy A52S, Galaxy F42 5G, and Galaxy M32 5G. These devices were released in late summer 2021 and have received regular software updates. Official support will end completely in October 2025.

Even if smartphones continue to function technically, security vulnerabilities and data misuse risk increase without up-to-date security measures. Users who use banking apps or store sensitive data should, therefore, consider a more modern device.

After Android 16: Fewer updates for the Galaxy S21 FE

At the same time, Samsung is reducing the frequency of updates for the Galaxy S21 FE. The model, which previously received monthly security updates, will now only receive new versions quarterly. A significant update to Android 16 is considered certain, but it's likely to be discontinued after that.

Samsung recommends switching to newer models.

Samsung recommends that owners of the affected smartphones upgrade to current generations, such as the Galaxy A07, Galaxy F56, Galaxy M36, or Galaxy A56. These successors offer more efficient chips, improved cameras, and longer update cycles, which ensure users' long-term stability and protection against security risks.

This move demonstrates Samsung's consistent commitment to its long-term software policy, even though the end of support is a bitter moment for many device owners. The Galaxy A52S, once considered one of the best mid-range devices on the market, will be particularly missed by many users.
