Huawei Mate 70 Air unveiled: Slim design meets XXL battery and powerful camera.
Huawei expands its ultra-slim smartphone lineup with the new Mate 70 Air, which has now been officially unveiled in China. This model is aimed at users who don't want to compromise on performance or battery capacity for a slim design. At just 6.6 mm thick and weighing 208 g, the Mate 70 Air remains compact while offering a significantly larger battery than many competitors.
At its heart is a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 66W wired charging. While wireless charging is absent, Huawei compensates with a long battery life and stable performance. The device features a 7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2,760 x 1,320 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.
The camera setup is impressive, boasting a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide module. A 10.7MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
Huawei equips the Mate 70 Air with either the Kirin 9020B or Kirin 9020A processor, with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, depending on the chosen storage option. Users can choose between 256 GB and 512 GB of internal storage. A VC heat dissipation architecture ensures stable performance even under intensive use. The device runs on HarmonyOS 5.1 and offers features such as AI Air Transfer, AI-based noise cancellation, tap-to-share, and stylus support.
IP68 and IP69 certifications ensure protection against dust and water, while additional sensors, such as a gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and fingerprint sensor, simplify operation. Thanks to support for satellite communication within China, Wi-Fi 7+, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC, the connection remains reliable.
The Huawei Mate 70 Air is currently available exclusively in China. Prices start at 4,199 CNY for the 12 GB/256 GB version, while the top model with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs 5,199 CNY. Colors such as Gold Thread & Silver Brocade, Feather Robe White, and Radiant Gold Black emphasize the premium design.
