Nano Banana is now in Samsung. Now Brief: How creative image editing with AI works
Samsung has added a new feature to its Now Brief app: Google's Nano Banana image-editing AI is now integrated into the daily summary. Users can activate the feature in the settings under "Nano Banana image generation.
" This means that at the end of each day, an AI-generated image will appear in the personal review – based on a randomly selected photo from the user's gallery.
The Now Brief app was initially launched with the Galaxy S25 series and is now available on several devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE, S25 Edge, Galaxy S24, and the Galaxy Tab 11 series. Until now, the app has been known for its limited compatibility with third-party apps, except for YouTube. The integration of Nano Banana, therefore, represents a rare opening up to external services.
Once activated, the system automatically selects an image from the gallery—such as a selfie or a pet photo—and suggests suitable editing ideas. Tapping one of these suggestions opens the Gemini app, which uploads the image to Google's servers and processes it using AI. The result can then be saved, copied, or shared directly.
Nano Banana is part of the Google Gemini Suite and is already available on many Galaxy devices via the Gemini app. The AI allows users to modify photos with simple text input – whether by changing the background, altering the mood, or completely redesigning the scene.
With the latest update to its Personal Data Intelligence app, Samsung is now taking this a step further and integrating image editing directly into the daily review.
Those who want more control over editing can still work directly in the Gemini app. There, images can be selected manually and modified with custom instructions. Alternatively, Galaxy AI's drawing assistance is also available. This feature transforms sketches into detailed illustrations or creates images directly from text. It's accessed via the Edge menu, similar to Now Brief.
