Samsung is strengthening its mid-range market with long-term update commitments. Users will now receive security and features until 2032.
Samsung is expanding its software strategy and will now offer significantly longer update support for select mid-range models. Previously, only the premium Galaxy S, Z, and Tab S series benefited from seven years of security updates. Now, devices such as the Galaxy A36, A56, and the Tab A11 and Tab A11 Plus tablets will also receive this long-term support.
Longer updates are also available for cheaper Samsung smartphones
The affected models will receive regular security updates until 2032. Samsung also promises support for six major Android versions on these devices. The Galaxy A36 and A56 smartphones launch with a commitment of 6 years of operating system support, ending in March 2032.
The Tab A11 series will receive updates through September or November of the same year. This extension applies not only to European markets but has also been confirmed on Samsung's Indian websites.
An update guarantee increases the perceived value and makes Samsung products more appealing.
With this move, Samsung demonstrates that comprehensive software updates are no longer reserved for expensive devices. The Galaxy A series, in particular, is among the world's best-selling mid-priced smartphones.

Users are retaining their money – more expensive models are not necessarily required.

The extended update policy significantly increases their lifespan.
