Next big thing: Will the Apple Glasses arrive as early as 2026?
Apple’s next coup could be closer than we think.
According to Bloomberg reports, the presentation is likely to be a sneak preview, while the market launch is not expected until 2027.
This strategy is now familiar from Apple: Vision Pro and Apple Watch were also presented months before their sales launch.
Smart glasses for the mass market
The Ray-Ban Meta currently dominates the smart glasses market.
But Apple could finally make the category suitable for the masses – as happened with iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Watch.
The decisive advantage: a lower price than Vision Pro, a comfortable design, and positioning as an iPhone accessory.
Apple’s first AI-native product
The Glasses will be Apple’s first hardware category designed from the ground up for artificial intelligence.
Unlike iPhones or Macs, which were subsequently optimized for Apple Intelligence, the glasses experience is based entirely on Siri and AI features.
The announced Siri upgrades are expected to be central to this.
Success uncertain
Whether the Apple Glasses will be a hit remains to be seen. The Vision Pro has so far failed to revolutionize the VR market.
However, the glasses have a better chance – their mere existence will bring significantly more attention to smart glasses.
