Motorola Signature 27 unveiled: Extreme performance in a slim body
At the "Snapdragon Summit" in the USA, Motorola unveiled the Signature 27 as the first smartphone with Qualcomm's new high-end processor. What's inside, and why does it look so arachnid?
As part of the presentation of the new mobile chip "Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6", which is expected to power a large part of the upcoming Android flagship generation, Motorola unveiled one of the first concrete mobile phones with the new high-performance processor: the Motorola Signature 27.
As the successor to the Motorola Signature (review) released last winter, the upcoming device seems determined to make no compromises while still offering a relatively slim, handy design. Aside from the Snapdragon chip, the Signature 27 scores particularly well on paper with its high-end camera setup. However, opinions on the phone's appearance are still divided.
Motorola Signature 27: Powerful technology…
Technically, Motorola is going all out with the performance. The processor, in particular, along with the display, cameras, and form factor, sounds very promising.
Qualcomm promises up to a 44 percent performance increase with the upcoming "Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6" compared to its predecessor. Efficiency is also said to improve significantly, resulting in longer battery life with the same battery capacity. This is good news for Motorola, as the first "Signature" model, while having a long battery life, didn't quite match the battery life of other top-tier phones in our tests.

nly the design of the Motorola Signature 27 is still a bit jarring. The three camera sensors plus an extra sensor and LED flash, especially in combination with the green casing, remind us more of a spider than an elegant lifestyle smartphone.

Motorola is expected to release the Signature 27 in 2026. This would make it the first Android flagship to showcase the new Snapdragon chip's strengths. A specific release date and price are still unknown. However, its predecessor, the Motorola Signature, was not exactly a bargain at launch, starting at €1,399. We expect a similar price point.
