Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C Review: A Clean Home Solution for Lazy Users

As its name suggests, the Robot Vacuum S40C is a self-propelled vacuum cleaner, unlike conventional vacuum cleaners, which require manual operation. Besides vacuuming dust, this device can also mop the floor at the same time because it is equipped with a mop cloth and a water tank.

Minimalist and weighty design 

Like most robot vacuums, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is round and quite thick. Its dimensions are 340 x 340 x 97 mm, and it weighs 3.44 kilograms (kg). 

The device is finished in white, with some parts polished to a light gray color. Likewise, the device's buttons are finished in gray. 

Overall, the appearance is elegant, dominated by a neutral white color and lacking many prominent features. It's perfect for a modern, minimalist home.

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C has several components, including a Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) protruding from the top of the device. This sensor supports a laser navigation system that helps the device quickly evaluate complex environments.

This way, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C can determine its position more accurately, especially when carrying out its task of cleaning various rooms. 

Near the sensor, Xiaomi has placed two buttons, each designed to be integrated like a capsule. The first button is the power button, which turns the device on or off and pauses the cleaning process. 

The second button is a multi-purpose button with a house icon. This button can be used to pause the robot vacuum while it's working, or to activate or deactivate the device's childproof lock. 

The icon on each button also has a light that illuminates in various modes. For example, it may glow white to indicate the vacuum is operating normally, flash white slowly when the device is charging, or flash yellow when the vacuum's battery is low.

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C also has an infrared sensor, a proximity sensor, and a bumper to protect the device's engine when it comes into contact with surrounding objects. 

At the bottom, there is a sensor that Xiaomi calls a cliff sensor, several driving wheels, charging contacts, a brush, a brush cover with a brush cover open and close button.

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C comes packaged in a large box. It's also lined with thick cardboard to protect it from bumps and other impacts. 

When removed from the packaging box, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is equipped with several attached accessories, starting from a dust cleaning brush, brush cover, and dust container.

There are also additional accessories that need to be installed by the user before use, including side brushes and a mop board that is integrated with the water tank. 

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C's packaging also includes a power adapter and a white charging dock. However, part of the dock is black, as it houses the signal receiver. 

Not to be missed, Xiaomi includes a fairly thick device manual because it includes guides in various languages, as well as a warranty card.
